MalcolmCC™ › Captions from your script
Captions from your script
Already have an approved script? MalcolmCC makes it the caption text — word-for-word — and times it to your video. No transcription guesswork, no paraphrase, no cleaning up an AI's best guess. The captions say exactly what you wrote.
Every other AI caption tool starts from a transcription — a machine's guess at what was said — and then you correct it. MalcolmCC can start from your approved copy instead — for word-perfect accuracy.
How it works
1. Upload your video and your script
Bring the script you already have — a Word document, or a Fountain screenplay. MalcolmCC reads the spoken lines from it.
2. Your words get timed to the audio
MalcolmCC aligns your exact script to the speech in the video and builds a fully timed caption track from it. The text is yours, verbatim; only the timing is computed.
3. Nudge, then export
Fine-tune any cue on the timeline — with a silence map showing where the audio pauses — then export a standards-compliant WebVTT (.vtt) file. More on the WebVTT output →
Why script-based captions matter
- Accuracy that's guaranteed, not hoped for. Technical terms, names, product names, and numbers are exactly as written — because they are what you wrote.
- Approved copy stays approved. For instructional, training, compliance, and brand-sensitive video, the captions match the language that was signed off — not a transcription's paraphrase.
- Less editing. You're timing correct text, not rewriting an AI's mistakes.
No script? That still works.
MalcolmCC also does straight AI transcription when you don't have a script — same editor, same timeline, same WebVTT export. Bring-your-own-script is the option most tools simply don't offer.
